Another big night was had by all at last night's Sires Produce Stakes meeting under lights.

The night started with a win to debutant Musqui who lived right up to his trial win recently in Hobart by running the field off their legs over the 1100M and beating the very game Abasova who will soon atone for that defeat.

El Sunera took out the Foot & Playsted Maiden (1400M) with a big win over the ever consistent Chainlocker and Monalusive, giving part owner John Boer a birthday present that he will remember.

The 3YO Hcp was won by front running Krakeour from the smart Prince Obama and Tula in the quickest time of the night over the 1400M trip.

Testamarriage had to pull out all stops to lead all the way in the R F Fergusson Memorial, a race for Fillies & Mares.
She started at the good odds of $3.20 after opening on the fixed odds Thursday night at around $1.80.

Socks kept up his unbeaten run with a most impreesive victory over ex mainlander Magnetosphere and honest Clan McLeod, in the Sires Produce Stakes over 1400M - He is now likely to go for a well earned break.

Street corner tip Stadacona proved way too good in the F & P Tas St Leger, winning by a widening 5 1/2L from Speedy Sky and Baby Doe,adding that horses name to the record books and provides trainer John Blacker with his third win in the Classic.

The final race on the 9 event program was won by last start winner Trysty, who appears to have regained his 2YO form - he proved far too smart for the strong opposition over the shorter trip of 1200M.

The next 6 Winter meetings will be daytime events and from the start of September we get back into night racing, a venture that seems to have a lot of momentum judging by the numbers supporting the initiative.
