| Nine trials were conducted at the Longford Training Centre on Tuesday on a slow track where most horses later in the day were getting to the centre looking for better going. The first two trials were for 2&3YO's with Trial 1 being won by the Dean Wells trained Redbougg a 3YO filly who looked good in winning in a slower 40.56sec. Trial 2 was won by Skase a 2YO from the John Blacker stable in a time of 40.53. Trial 3 was won in a quicker 39.69sec by Team Brunton trained Ishtar King, beating a handy field of 3YO Maidens. Trial 4 was won in bold fashion by the speedy Copatip from the Terry Roles yard who jumped and ran, leaving her opponents in her wake - she ran a smart 39.62sec. Trial 5 a Maiden Trial was taken out by the Barry Campbell trained Xaartee, a 4YO mare who won in a time of 40.38sec. Trial 6 was won by the good wet tracker Seal Lago from the John Blacker stable in a time of 39.53sec. He should soon be winning in the right race. Trial 7 was another John Blacker gelding in John's Luck, a grand old horse who always seems to pick up a cheque or two each campaign - he ran a time of 39.81sec. Trial 8 was the trial of the morning and it was taken out by top mare With Decorum over Loroupe and Western Wager in a quick 39.13, as stated in our last column on trials, this mare should have another good winter. Trial 9 was over 1000M and was won by Em Jay Are in a time of 1.05.25sec. |
