| A big card, a good crowd and a mild night was served up last night at the Tote Racing Centre. Only one favorite was successful on the night, but a couple of well tried runners saluted. Honest mare Love The Moment($3.60) showed her liking for the track and distance with a strong win in the BM78 Hcp over 1600m. Mr Fashion ($6.30) proved he is worthy of a start in the Newmarket Hcp next month, with a strong win over Obstinado & Turbo Qui in the Novas Architectual Open Hcp. He is a credit to his trainer Leon Laskey, who has his team racing most consistently. Former Victorian Kiwi Cat($1.90 fav) proved his form in that state was strong with a good win in the Bradley Aust Cl.1 Hcp. His trainer, Glenn Stevenson also is on a roll with his small team. One of the runs of the night was put in by Spring Desert ($16.10) who came from the tail of the field to take out the Fenton Doors BM68 Hcp. This mare has always shown plenty of ability for trainer Michael Trinder. Kel Sanderson was the only multiple winning jockey on the night with a double (Hussinger & Love The Moment). The next meeting in Launceston will be held on Wed 9/11. |
