| Racehorse owner,Doug Bingley, son of former prominent trainer, Jack Bingley, shared success today at Morphettville, with 2YO Snappy General, trained by leading SA mentor Leon Macdonald, winning the opening race over 1250M. The smart gelding was a big shortener late in betting and got up in the last couple of strides under hard riding from ex Tasmanian jockey Adrian Patterson. Doug has raced several horses over the last 20 years and currently has two with George Blacker and one with Bill Ryan. Doug's father Jack trained a lot of winners back in the 60's and 70's, from his property at Bridport, and his sons Doug and Timothy and their offspring have all been bitten by the racing bug. |
