Colonel Parker showed by his good return to racing at Caulfield today that he is not yet a spent force.
It was strongly feared that he would not race again after pulling up sore in the back following his unplaced run in the Newmarket Hcp. on 31st November last year.

It has been a long road back to recovery for him, but patience showed by trainer Bill Ryan and his staff, looks like paying dividends.
The topline sprinter is likely to run again in Melbourne, with a view of trying to capture the elusive Newmarket later in the year.
If he does contest that race, it will be his third attempt to do so, after finishing 2nd to grand mare Oceano in 2007.
