Tote Racing Centre 21/12/09 By: Ron Riley - December 24th, 2009 This article has been read: 197 times. |
| A successful meeting was held at The Tote Racing Centre on Monday, and Trainers Troy Blacker, Gary White and Team Brunton all had doubles, as well as riders B. McCoull a treble and S. Maskiell a double. The track seemed to play very fair with winners Rose Of Scotland and Cool Heat coming from last in their respective events, but also on pacers taking out several races. Times were only average with most races being well outside record times. The Gary White trained double were probably the most impressive winners on the day, with Lake Crescent winning the Class 2 by 2 1/2Lengths, and appearing to be a track specialist, winning all of his races at this venue. Gary said the horse is suited to the Strath Ayr surface as it is much more forgiving of horses with leg problems. Gary's other winner, Mr Isaac, is improving with every run, having raced at the track three times for a second and then impressive wins at his last two starts. Another young trainer on a hot roll is Troy Blacker with his team really firing at present and looking at this stage to be Tassie's best hope of winning the two major cups this Summer, with good stayer Dream Pedlar. |
