| Nine trials were held yesterday at the Longford Training Centre and a couple of smart horses came out to strut their stuff. Four 2YO trials were conducted and the full sister to the last start Flemington Listed winner Silver Bullion racing under the name of Silver Strike was most impressive in winning Trial 1. Smart filly Vivacious won Trial 2 in workmanlike fashion. Shinto from the Ken Hanson stable ran the fastest time for 2YO's in winning Heat 3, and in Heat 4 the filly Move Your Shoes from the John Blacker yard won impressively. Delz Bells won Heat 5, a trial for Maidens and Our Nkwazi showed she could pick up a race shortly with her win in Heat 6. Heat 7 was won by the slow maturing giant Shinko who is a half brother to one of the States best sprinters in recent years in Colonel Parker. Stormbay Spirit won the Open heat in the fastest time of the morning, and in doing so has sent out a message that she will take beating in any short race Trainer Leon Wells picks out for her in the coming weeks. Heat 9, a trial over 1400M attracted a large field of seven and was won by Geronimo Stilton from Given Sunday and both should be followed in their respective classes in the weeks ahead. |
