Another good day's racing was experienced at The Tote Racing Centre yesterday, with a local taking out the main event, the listed Finance Brokers of Tas. Gold Sovereign Stakes.
The Michael Trinder trained youngster Strike The Tiger extended his unbeaten run to three from three, when he safely withstood the mainland challenge from both Cuddles For Naara and Narcelo.
The win takes his total stakes won to almost $120k.

Race 7 was won in bold fashion by the very honest and smart Obstinado, who lumped 58kg to win the Tasmanian Yearling Sale 3YO Classic.
He was the fourth winner for the day for Team Brunton, and they continue on their way picking up races almost at random and showing their confidence once again in the Strath Ayr surface.

Other smart winners on the day were Tough Future (a horse that this column highlighted from the last set of trials at Longford)-who blitzed a handy field of Maidens.

Prevailing who followed up his good debut placing with a fine win in the Tasmanian Supervobis 3YO & up Maiden Div. 2.

White Yard who looked beaten on the turn only to come back and win pulling away in the Examiner FashionsOn The Field Showcase 0-66 Hcp over 2100m.

Pure Essence won the Coghlan Memorial Showcase Class 1 like a horse going places.

The Launceston Mitsubishi Open Hcp was won by Go Ali Go, who showed a return to her best form and also broke her duck at the track.

The Club looks set for another top meeting next Sunday with the running of the Oaks, the George Adams WFA and the 3 YO Stakes - all of these races attracting mainland nominations.
