A good crowd turned out for PFD Food Services Oaks Day at Tote Racing Centre yesterday.
The weather was great and the track was in top condition with all runners having their chances.

The two divisions of the maiden were won by ex interstate horses in the Terry Roles trained Venezuela and the very well tried Lord Aspinall from the Dean Wells stable ( a recent trial winner noted in our column).

David and Scott Brunton had another day out with their team, having a winning double with Life To The Full winning the Tattersall's George Adams Plate at WFA and Parched winning the Eliza Park Class 1 Hcp over 1200m.

The Charlie Goggin trained Too Many Reds was dominant in winning the Veolia Enviromental Services 3YO Classic 1200m after missing the start, it was a good effort to recover.
The victory was a sweet one for jockey Brendon Mc Coull, as he had earlier in the Summer decided to stick with Too Many Reds over Obstinado.

The John Dakin Financial Services 0-75 Hcp was taken out by the consistent Two Bob who lead for most of the 1600m trip ridden by Lee Smith giving him the second leg of a winning double.

Mainland jockeys had a good day out, with success to Craig Newitt,Garry Murphy,Ben Melham and Darren Guauci.

Garry Murphy was aboard Life To The Full in the WFA, and he came from last to win running away in a most impressive victory.

Ben Melham won the third of our feature races the PFD Food Services Tas. Oaks, on Coulis who franked her form from the Tas.Derby, with a gritty win.
