| Six Trials were held at the Longford Training Centre on Wednesday and they may lead to some winners in the near future. The first trial was for 2YO's and was won in good style by Socks from the George Blacker stable. This Keep The Faith gelding is scheduled to make his debut in Hobart this Sunday. Trial 2 was for 3YO's and was taken out in impressive fashion by Man From Mars, who has had one previous run at the Devonport track for sixth back in February. He again trialled very eratic, but when he learns what the caper is about he may make into a nice type. Trial 3 again for 3YO's was won by the John Blacker trained La Pampa in the slowest time of the morning (42.00). This filly is from the good race mare Sky Boat, who won the Cascade Classic as a 2YO, and is by the imported stallion My Lad (Arg). The last of the 3YO trials was won in good style by Beautiful Fantasy, a filly from the former smart 2YO Beautiful Madam, this filly is an acceptor for Hobart this Sunday. Trial 5 saw Savivor win for John Blacker and he may be in for a successful campaign this preparation - he is another entered for Hobart this week. The last of the trials was won by the handy I'm Paddy who is about to start his Autumn/ Winter stint. After winning as a 2YO he failed in his next 15 tries as a 3YO and then as an early 4YO, but then he hit back hard as a later 4YO and into his 5YO season, with his overall form reading 27 starts for 20 times in the first four and just tipping over the $100k mark. |
