Last night the the Tasmanian Turf Club held their first official trials under lights and the response from participants was very positive.
It was certainly a larger crowd of interested patrons than anticipated - the weather was mild and there appeared to be no major hiccups.

Eight trials were conducted, with the first two being for 2YO's.
Trial 1 was won by Incat from the Mark Ganderton Stable in a time of 47.5.

Trial 2 was taken out by the Leon Wells trained Aslanyon, who looked smart in recording 47 sec.

Trial 3 for 2&3 YO's was run in a quicker 46.4 by Rock Jester trained by Dean Wells, and looked to have a bit in hand.

Trial 4 was won by the beautifully bred Tula, (by Lago Delight from Spirit Of Egypt), trained by John Blacker, in a time of 47.1.

Trial 5 was the slowest of the 8 trials and was taken out by another John Blacker gelding in From The Corners, an Atlantis Prince (GB) 3YO.

Trial 6 was won by promising maiden Gea Force beating a handy field in the smart time of 46.1 sec. This 4YO is due to return after running unplaced at his last run in Victoria.

Trial 7 winner Happent could be regaining his best form judging on his impressive win in the fastest time of the session - 45.88

The final trial saw a smart line up of Sprinters and was won by Old Masters from I'm Paddy in a time of 46.06.
Both of these horses are about to embark on their Autumn campaigns.
