| Once again we were blessed with a glorious night for our Dress Rehearsal Night Trials at Tote Racing Centre. And once again there appeared to be no negatives from participants. It was great to see Trainers and Owners travel from all parts of the State to be a part of this historic night in racing. There were 10 Trials run and some very smart winners were thrown up - Trial 1 was over 1600M and taken out by handy gelding Slow Talkin Walter in a time of 1.43.52 sec. Trial 2 was won in the fastest time of the night for trials over 800M by the smart 3YO Mr Fashion in 46.26sec. Trial 3 witnessed a dead heat for first between 3YO Blue Light and 2YO Clan McLeod in a time of 47.31. Trial 4 for 2YO's was the eyecatcher of the night being won by the unraced filly Seeking Chi, winning by over 7 lens. in 47.31sec. Trial 5 saw Old Masters win his second trial under lights, beating a handy field in 46.68sec. He is likely to make his return at the first night meeting next Thursday night. Trial 6 was won by promising 4YO Secdolrue in a quick 46.85sec, showing that he is close to another win. Trial 7 was run in a slower 48.20 sec, but the winner Gazumper was impressive in finishing off his trial in strong fashion. Trial 8 was taken out by another Bill Ryan trained gelding in Light Illusion, and this lightly raced 4YO may be in for a good preparation. Trial 9 had only three starters with the honest I'm Paddy proving a bit too smart for his rivals over 1100M in 1.1021sec. The last of the 10 trials was run over 1200M and was taken out by March Forth in 1.18.32sec to round off a very successful Trials night. We now head into next Thurday night full of confidence of a great night. |
