Information:

The Launceston Cup and Carnival has become acknowledged as being one of the most prestigious in Australia with the “Affair to Remember” campaign being so successful that it received national recognition.

The importance of the Launceston Cup and Carnival to the local community is enormous, it has become the peoples day, and a huge amount of turnover is generated for many sectors of the local business community.

The Tasmanian Turf Club itself has significantly increased the amount of time and funds expended on the Carnival as it’s reputation both intra and interstate as a quality, feel good event, continues to flourish.

The Launceston Cup is acknowledged as being the major event on the Tasmanian social calendar. Much of the extraordinary growth in the event has been as a direct result of the increased emphasis on the social aspects of the day.

On lucky attendee who pre-purchases their ticket to the 2010 AAMI Launceston Cup will drive away in a brand new Lancer RX Sport thanks to Launceston Mitsubishi and the Tasmanian Turf Club. This car will be won on the day. (see below for full terms and conditions)

Terms and Conditions

(1)The Promoters of the competition are The Tasmanian Tur Club Inc. and Launceston Mitsubishi.

(2)Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

(3)Entry is open to any person purchasing a pre purchased Launceston Cup entry ticket excluding employees and immediate family of all staff employed by Launceston Mitsubishi and the Tasmanian Turf Club including Committee members of the Tasmanian Turf Club.

(4)The competition concludes and will be drawn on Wednesday 24 February 2010 at the Tote Racing Centre.

(5)Patrons must be on-course at the TOTE Racing Centre Mowbray to be eligible to win by 3pm. The time they must be on-course (3pm) is when the winner of the draw is announced, with such announcement to be made at a time wholly at the Promoter’s discretion, but not being before 3pm and not after 4pm.

(6)To enter participants must purchase or be the holder of a pre purchased Launceston Cup ticket.

(7)Entrants must be over the age of 18 to enter.

(8)Incomplete and incomprehensible entries will be deemed ineligible and this is at the unfettered discretion of the Promoters.

(9)The Promoters reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim the prize. Proof of identification, and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter’s. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

(10)The Promoters reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which in the opinion of the Promoter’s, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter’s, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter’s. The Promoter’s reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter’s becomes aware that the winner entry is of a type described in this clause.

(11)Entries must be placed in the entry boxes provided at the main gates at the Tote Racing Centre by 2.30pm. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries or delays in the delivery of the entry or for any other reason.

(12)The exact model of the vehicle is at the discretion of the Promoters (“the vehicle”).

(13)Prize includes CTP Insurance and Stamp Duty driveaway.

(14)Vehicle cannot be exchanged for cash or an alternative vehicle.

(15)Vehicle will be registered.

(16)Vehicle may have up to 100km on the odometer at the time of delivery.

(17)Comprehensive insurance, additional options and all ancillary costs (including travel to and from the dealership) are the responsibility of the winner. Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner.

(18)Once prize has left the Promoters premises, the Promoters takes no responsibility for prize damage.

(19)By accepting the prize the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize. This is an essential term of the agreement and in the event that the person with the winning ticket refuses to participate as reasonably directed they will be regarded as having not complied with requirements of the draw and are therefore not eligible.

(20)Prize value is based on the recommended retail price at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter’s accept no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate price redemption date.

(21)Each valid entrant who has entered the competition on the day will be entered into the draw. The draw will take place at (a time to be determined) at the Tote Racing Centre on Wednesday 24 February 2009.

(22)The winner will be announced over the public announcement system immediately following the prize draw and will be asked to come to the Tasmanian Turf Club offices. To claim the prize the holder of the drawn ticket must present themselves to the Tasmanian Turf Club offices within 30 minutes (any time really as long as it is reasonable) of the announcement. Should the holder of the drawn ticket fail to present themselves at the nominated location at the nominated time they forfeit all rights and entitlements under this promotion and acknowledge that the Promoter has the unfettered power to hold an additional draw and to draw an additional ticket according to which the winner of the draw will be determined with all previous deemed a nullity.

In taking delivery of the vehicle the winner undertakes that they are licensed to operate a motor vehicle or alternately will arrange for a licensed person to collect the vehicle from a location nominated by the Promoter. All entrants indemnify the Promoter and all associated entities from any liability associated with any failure to adhere to this condition.

(23)The winner will be published in the public notice section of the Examiner Newspaper on Friday 26th February 2010.

(24)The Promoters decision is final and the Promoters will not enter into correspondence regarding the competition result.

(25)It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

(26)In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoters ability to proceed with the competition on the date and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of god, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoters may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State regulation.

(27)The Promoters shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

(28)All entries become the property of the Promoters. The Promoters collects personal information about you to enable you to participate in this promotion but no further use of this information will be made without prior consent.

(29)Financial Members of the Tasmanian Turf Club (does not include honorary, life members or complimentary members) will automatically receive entry to the competition but to be eligible must be on-course on 24 February at the prescribed time.

(30)The joint Promoters are the Tasmanian Turf Club Inc. and Launceston Mitsubishi.

Picnic Car Spaces:

The AAMI Launceston Cup is famous for its picnic car spaces and although the Club endeavour to fit everyone in the picnic spaces have become so popular that this is not always possible. Patrons who had spaces the previous year have preference to retain their position. Any positions left are given out at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.

Prices for picnic car spaces are as follows:
- Home Turn (Members) - $275
- Home Turn (Non-Members) - $350
- Leger (Members) - $350
- Leger (Non-Members) - $450

Dining:

There is no better place to be on Launceston Cup day than in the comfort of the Members Reserve with breathtaking views and trackside action.

Members Reserve Package includes:
- Admittance to the course and members area (for non members)
- Reserved table
- Three course luncheon (including entrée, main course and waiter service, served alternatively & dessert)
- Cash bar facilities and waiter service
- Racebook per guest

There are approximately 35 private and corporate marquees on Cup Day. Launceston Cup Day has become a huge corporate event with many of Tasmania and Australia’s largest companies using the occasion as an opportunity to network and promote their businesses.

This is LADIES DAY, join the social scene, dress in your best and get into Cup fever at the Myer Fashions for Fillies Gala Parade.

Held in a corporate marquee on the leger, the $90.00 admission includes:
- Admission to the course & marquee
- Racebook
- Two course luncheon (entrée and main) and Tasmanian cheese and fruit platter as well as a complimentary drink on arrival
- Prizes to be won
- Two half-hour choreographed fashion parades, featuring a sneak preview of autumn fashions supplied by 11 leading fashion houses

Examiner Fashions on the Field:

The Examiner Newspaper came on board as the new sponsor in 2004 and with that came also came the announcement of the first prize which was a Trip for two to PARIS for seven days including accommodation and $1000 spending money as well as many other fantastic prizes for second and third.

This year there is also a trip for two to Hong Kong for the Mens Classic Racewear worth over $4500 and includes return airfares to Hong Kong, five nights accommodation and $1000 spending money.
Prizes for the event are worth in excess of "$15,000".

The expectation for 2010 is that it will continue to grow given the level of enquiry received to date from business and the local community.
The competition receives great support from the local fashion houses and businesses.

AAMI Launceston Cup Barrier Draw:

The barrier draw for the 2010 AAMI Launceston Cup will be held in the Launceston Mall at noon on Friday 19th February.

Come along and see where your Cup fancy draws, be in with a chance to win some great prizes and see some of Tasmania's top models display the latest Cup fashions.
A casual prelude to the biggest day in the north of the state.

Alcohol Policy:

- No alcohol or other beverages allowed to be brought onto the race course on foot.
- Additional and more frequent public transport.
- Pay to get in up to 5pm (new policy).
- No access after 5pm (new policy)except patrons who have a designated driver pass which will allow entry to one person to collect vehicles after 5pm.
- No pass outs
- Work towards a no glass policy (new policy).
- Free water.
- Breath testing available during the day.
- Security on each bar to help screen underage patrons.
- Strong police and licensing presence.

In order to facilitate the new alcohol policy the following will again apply for 2010:
- Fencing off car parks and corporates from general public. No restriction on movement through these areas excepting no alcohol can be taken in or out.
- Relocation of car spots behind grandstand to new leger area (Eastern side of Corporate Hoecker).
- Placement of additional food and beverage outlets behind grandstand.
- Relocation of bookmakers to allow free flowing access to outlets behind grandstand.
- Detailed survey of attendees to gauge reaction and seek feedback on policies and guidelines introduced for the 2009 Launceston Cup (new policy).
- Advertise designated pick up/drop off points for buses, taxis, hire cars etc in Jellico Street.

Please note beverage prices for general public will be kept to reasonable and acceptable levels
