DRESS CODE POLICY
PURPOSE
This policy establishes a dress code for the Member’s area of our Club, ensuring that standards of attire meet both modern expectations and the longstanding traditions of the thoroughbred industry and this Club.
POLICY STATEMENT
The Club adopts a smart casual dress standard for the members area at all times but the dress code may vary depending on the nature of the meeting, i.e. feature meetings with VIP guests and other non-feature regular or ordinary meetings.
The club will reserve the right to refuse entry or request a change of attire if deemed appropriate.
SCOPE
This policy applies to Members Reserve area and does not apply to General Admissions area and to Hospitality enclosures on major race days.
The Club may decide to impose a dress code for these areas on a meeting / location basis.
DRESS CODE FOR FEATURE RACE DAYS AND MAJOR EVENTS
Gentleman’s Dress Code:
Collared shirt
Dress trousers or chinos
Closed footwear – dress shores or smart loafers
Not permitted:
Torn, ripped or distressed denim or otherwise tattered clothing
Singlets or sleeveless tops
Activewear / Sportswear or tracksuits
Shorts or board shorts
Thongs, flip-flops, sandals or moccasins
Sneakers or athletic shoes
Offensive attire
T-shirts
Football jerseys
Dilapidated footwear
Ladies’ Dress Code:
Racewear, tailored trousers, or smart casual clothing
Elegant dresses or skirts
Dress shoes
Not permitted:
Denim
Casual shorts
Activewear
Ripped clothing
Thongs, sneakers, sandals or athletic shoes
Garments showing excessive midriff or an open back below the waist.
Offensive attire
DRESS CODE FOR NON-FEATURE ORDINARY RACE DAYS
The Club will adopt a relaxed casual standard
Gentleman’s Dress Code:
Collared shirt, polo shirt neat casual top
Dress jeans, chinos or neat denim
Dress shorts
Enclosed footwear, neat casual shoes or sandals
Ladies’ Dress Code:
Smart casual attire
Neat casual footwear
BANNED ITEMS
Regardless of meeting the following are not permitted:
Torn, ripped or distressed clothing
Singlets
Thongs, slippers or bare feet
Clothing displaying offensive, political or inappropriate slogans or imagery
Activewear or sportswear
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE
Cultural or religious dress is always welcome
Medical conditions will also be taken into account and be accommodated.
